The Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest is looking for college students to intern with them in downtown Chicago. This is a fantastic opportunity for University of Illinois students to pursue. Several Illini have had great experiences in this position in the past!

The Chicago Consulate is an official office of the Government of Israel and it is responsible for coordinating relationships with national and local organizations in the Midwest Region, offices of public officials, businesses and citizens. They serve Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

They seek someone who is a creative, organized, and responsible, with a demonstrated interest in Israel and international affairs. This opportunity will provide first-hand experience in international diplomacy and Middle East politics while working in a fast-paced environment.

Interns will assist diplomats and directors of academic affairs, policy, press, press, and social media departments as needed. They will assist directors of departments with administrative tasks, regular programming, and projects. Interns will develop and research an assigned project, and assist with the operation of public programs. The intern will also create and edit promotional materials.

The position is for a minimum of 8 weeks, working at least 20 hours per week. It is unpaid, but public transportation to work will be reimbursed.
